Scottsville Rotary receives award from the Wheatland Assets Initiative for 10 years of Ground Hog Day dinners.
 
 



 
 
 
 
Scottsville Rotary presented dictionaries to all the 3rd grade class students at the local TJ Connor School in January 2012 as they have done for many years.
Rotary is an organization of business and professional women and men united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 29,000 Rotary clubs.

  • Strengthening and expanding Rotary around the world;
  • Communicating worldwide the work of Rotary; and

+ History of the Scottsville Rotary Club

Scottsville Rotary was chartered on May 11, 1974.  Since that time the Club has supported many local and international activities and events.  Listed below are some of the local community ones:
  • Formed the Greater Wheatland Chamber of Commerce
  • Participates in annual holiday party for residents at Monroe Community Hospital.
  • Sponsors foreign exchange students - inbound and outbound.
  • Awards annually scholarships to area High School students.
  • Participates in annual Summer Fest community festival.
  • Established the "Annual Ground Hog Dinner" to assist in funding the Community Assets Program.
  • Participates in annual fundraising at the LPGA for disabled children.
  • Supports Wheatland Community Asset Program
  • Recognizes Wheatland-Chili Students-of-the-Month who demonstrate Asset Program characteristics in their school and community
  • Supports Camp Haccomo for handicapped children and youth.
  • Participates in Adopt-A-Highway program on Route 383.
  • Sponsors Scottsville Atheletic Association's Youth Soccer Program.
  • Produces area Business Directory for Wheatland Community.
